Hi everyone -

can anyone provide me with some written info - either your own - or medicares - that explains what they will reimberse pts for glasses - ?

take for instance - i know ( or at least i am told - they only cover post cateracts - however - how much will they pick up for differant lenses -

and will they pick up for frames - ? and how many in what timeframe - ?
say the pt gets one eye done this yr -a nd one next - will they only pick up 1 frame > ? or 2 ?

and as for the lenses - to my understanding - they only pay for that 1 eye that had the operation -

any help would be HELPFUL - AND MUCH APPREACITED !!!!!!!

If you PM me your email I will send you an excel sheet I made that calculates all the re-imbursements for each patient and serves as a Medicare ABN which the patient signs.

I received a few PMs so I thought I would post an attachment.

Instructions:
Type the patient's name on the top of the sheet. Columns "A" and "E" are the only ones you modify, the sheet should calculate everything else, this is based on a patient with a secondary insurance which would pay 80% from Medicare and 20% from secondary based on Florida re-imbursement schedule.
