Hello, I'm afraid that it is impossible, becouse it is set in factory. But what's the problem?
All the best Max :)
Never mind I ran a test from the manual and teh problem corrected itself. I was starting to get crazed AR lenses from the edger. We have had a few brown outs in the area due to severe weather and last night I was edging a lens when the power went out. No problems except that the clamping pressure seemed to be too much, I ran a test and it corrected itself.

That's good:) Sometimes this edger is able to do strange things, even without power cut off;)

Crazed lenses often occur during deblocking, particularly with Crizal and other HQ ARs

I have a PP from Essilor on all this. Send me a private email to bsantini@fnol.net, and I'll return it as an attachment
Press 9 and 5 button together and get into the maintence screen. I ll have to check which icon it is later but an obvious icon is shown and you can than proceed to increase or decrease chuck pressure per material. There also may be a scanner setting in that worthless FRENCH owners manual.
I used a scaner setting, but I do use the 9 and 5 together to calibrate t every monday. I have never seen anything for chuck pressure in there, but I got to admit I haven't been looking until today.

Harry, you callibrate yours every weeek? I have a kappa 3 years and dont do that. Is there a benefit?? still runs like a top, sizing ect...
Just found the calibration setting, faintly do remember doing it before. Its been a while thou. Came up all SMILES!!!! Thanks for the reminder Harry

It doesn't hurt to calibrate often, not that it is needed, but I like to keep things running smoothly, not just address problems when they arise. I have found that regular maintenance and calibration keeps the Gerber Technicians away, kind like an apple and a dentist. :bbg:

I have an Essilor Gamma. To those of you that have a Kappa - Is it worth it to upgrade? I don't have any problems, but we have grown and I am running out to time to edge lenses. The Gamma doesn't do safety bevels, or grooving.
I have never found safety beveling or grooving to be a difficult task at all and it doesn't require much time or skill to do at all. Often times while a job is in the edger I am safety beveling the one that came out or grooving the one that came out so the time savings are negated.
+ It is easier and nicer to let the equipment do all the grooving and safety beveling for you.
+ It is easier to get more people in the office edging, when the equipment safety bevels nd grooves.
- Another component that can break.
- Component is not built as tough as a seperate hand stone and groover.
Their are both pluses and minuses. And they are not just cost. I personally would go for a better model edger, but I work in the lab all day, so it does make my job easier.

I agree with HarryChiling. Popping a safety edge on a lens takes no time, but can be fiddly and slow if your not doing it all the time. We just got a Kappa CTD and I have to admit that it is the quickest and most accurate machine I have ever used, even using the safety bevel function, and now doing a rimless is much easier and less time consuming (though I miss doing them the old fashioned way). If you have the funds, I would definately recommend it.
You can adjust clamping pressure by pressing the 9 and 1 or 2 button at the same time and then adjust based on lens material and chuck size.
Why calibrate your edger if it has no problems ? The EPROM chips on the main board do not like being overwritten with new data too often. This leads to future problems.
If it aint broke, why fix it ?
