Redhot Jumper Eyecare Professionals Only ...................

This morning I discovered an interesting point, which seems to explain why not more Optiboard members have made arrangements for access to the "Eyecare Professionals Only" Forum.

A programm that cleans computer and hard disc had deleted all cookies on my home computer, and when I wanted to go on the Optiboard, my password was missing.

I could see all the threads on our general forum but the one, mentioned above, the one that needs a subscrition did not show at all. So I assume that all Optiboarders that did not subscribe, when looking at the menu will not even see it. Here are some thread that might not be visible but make an interesting discussion:

    Sexual Harassment

    Prices ex China Manufacturer

    Let's discuss ... human resources

    Prices at retail level?

    Some patients plain old SUCK!!!!!!!!

    What are you paying for?

    Frame part pricing

    Advertising

How will that affect the optical retail

Pitch or get off the mound

What is the difference in revenue

In those few thread is a lot of information everybody would like to see because that is all valuable information on how others handle their sales and profits and other problems that occur and can not be discussed in a open forum. Think about it and subscribe to Optiboard.

Great Point Chris, I love the fact that their is a new forum where we can privately discuss things, it's nice and so far has proven very useful.

    Balderdash!

there should be a 6 month minimum.
there's thousands of dollars of advertising and Human Resources information currently posted there.

    my point is

    nothing worth having is free.

There are exception to every rule, however the nuggets of gold that have been posted in the subscription section are worth alot of money.

Hope I was articulate enough this time?

    (snip)

OK, I've looked all over the Optiboard site and I don't see an "Eyecare Professionals Only" forum. Can you please point me to where this is located? I'd certainly like an opportunity to give it a look.
    Thx.

    Gil,

Unless you have paid for an Optiboard subscription, you won't even see this forum listed. As Chris mentioned, if you clean out your cookies and have go go back into Optiboard, it won't even show up, until you log in again, and recognizes your account. It provides great information.

In all fairness, the Internet is only free to those who don't have to pay to maintain it. I'm sure the networking and server support costs associated with the the Internet are well into the millions of dollars (in addition to the initial Federally-funded ARPA investments). You will also find that some of the Internet's most useful sites (for example, Wikipedia) rely on either donations, subscriptions, or hundreds of pop-up ads.

Just go to the top of this page to the user CP. Scroll down on the left you'll see the paid subscription option, that will take you where you want to go.
    WELCOME!

I signed up for a subscription yesterday but still can't see the link. Approximately how long before my subscription is activated? I know it's a holiday weekend! Understandable if I have to wait a few days...

    Hi Bobanty,
I got the link immediatly... I just did what CME4SPECS said, and used PAYPAL. If you paid another way, perhaps the board is waiting "check to clear" or whatever..
    Hope this helps,
    Nick

I did pay with Paypal, and received a notification that the payment went through. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place for the link? Where is it on the board (for those that can see it that is!)? Or will the link be sent to my inbox? Thanks everyone for your help...

All I see below the general discussion forum is the Canadian general discussion forum! I have searched all over the site, logged off and signed on again, still the same thing.

In the left navigation on the User CP page, there is a link called "Paid Subscriptions" under Miscellaneous. If you click that, it will take you back to the Subscriptions page. At the top of the page there should be a section called "Active Subscriptions." If OptiBoard recognizes your subscription, it should appear under "Subscription Title." If your subscription still doesn't appear after a reasonable amount of time (I'm not sure how long the system gives credit card transactions to go through), you might e-mail Steve about it.

I ran into similar situation, myself, and had to re-subscribe using my credit card when it became obvious that PayPal had not processed it properly (the first transaction never showed up in my credit card account, and never activated my OptiBoard subscription).

    ps,
It could also be an issue related to the Cookies saved on your computer, if the transaction has indeed shown up in your credit card account, which you can usually clear out from your browser settings.

    Nice attitude............

It is refreshing to see that many have looked at this thread and hope that many more did sign up and will sign up in the near future.

The invisible forum is actually there............with pricing openly discussed on all levels and who does not want to see that ?
