We currently have a Production Supervisor career opportunity at our Warren, NJ location.

Position Purpose:
Lead team in achieving facility and organizational goals, reporting to the GM.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Facilitate daily plan that best utilizes resources to meet customer demands.
· Create an environment of continual improvement of both people and process.
· Champion Lean Manufacturing transition in the facility.
· Manage department in a way that delivers excellent quality at the lowest possible unit cost.

· Determine training requirements and ensure all training needs are met.
· Work with HR, Quality, EHS, etc. to develop training as required.

· Communicate safety rules and the need for protective equipment.
· Enforce Safety and Housekeeping policies at all times.
Employee Relations

· Reward associates that demonstrate the right behavior and how accountable those that do not.
· Prepare written performance evaluations and discuss progress with each supervisor on first shift.
· Provide direct support, feedback and training.
· Take an active interest in all employees and the job they are doing.
· Administer company policy and provide timely counseling as required.
· If necessary, discharge employees after review and final approval of Human Resources and Operations Manager.

Education and Qualifications:
· Must demonstrate a PASSION for achieving results.
· Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing preferably an optical lab environment.
· Must have experienced a transition to Lean Manufacturing and must be able to not only speak the buss word but be able to explain the methodology behind it.
· Demonstrable leadership skills and experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Good mathematical/analytical skills.
· Excellent process orientation.
· Good process control knowledge and a track record in reducing process variability and improving process yields.
· Strong computer skills.
