    Question 1.74 High Index

Is there any 1.74 Index presently available? I tried to get the Optima lens a few months ago, but it wasn't released at that time. (Now it isn't even mentioned on their website) I also understand the Seiko 1.74 is only available in Japan. Isn't there anybody making a 1.74 I can get my hands on at this time?

The highest index lens I use regularly, is the Hoya 1.71. It is available in Spherical S/V, Aspheric S/V and also in their GP and GP Wide designs.

    Hope this helps.

Try the Hoya Teslalid 1.71 Index that Corey mentioned. It is available in the states from wholesale labs.

I dont know why, but they withdrew the lens before it even hit the market. Maybe couldn't get it to pass drop ball, who knows. Rest assured though, eventually you will see it and higher indexes coming.

PBS- several people have already mentioned the 1.71. Down at the lab I had them put an Rx in the computer and run it with 1.71 and 1.74. There was little or no difference in edge thickness and weight-I think you would find that the 1.71 will totally satisfy your needs. It also has a killer AR.

Nikon in Canada has the 1.74 product. Available thru them on a Japan order basis. Done 2 here, may not be worth time and dollars, 1.71 probably a better choice

I know all about the 1.71.... I've sold many of them to my clients. I was trying to find something a new client found on the internet
(Seiko) which still indicates there is a 1.74 avaliable form them.:hammer:
