    Definity vs Definity short

We have had great success with the Definity lens, however, lately we have had a few of the short returning as non-adapts. These pts have had short corridor previously, but complain of no reading and having increased difficulty finding their spot in the intermediate. When they're flipped into another short corridor lens, they're fine. Anyone else noticing this? There's been no problem with the regular Definity though.

That's interesting because we just had a Varilux rep give a presentation and he talked about the Definity Short. He said it has a better reading and intermediate area then the Ellipse does. What other short corridor lenses do your patients seem to perfer?

I have a pair and they seem all right. But I'm not super picky. I haven't fit it much, though. I was thinking about using it more after the rep talked to us but I am concerned about what you said.

We have used Shamir Piccalo for short corridor and have not had the greatest response.

I've used the Piccalo as well and the Ellipse. For a lower end, the Compact.

As an update, just today while helping a gentleman and discussing progressives etc., his wife piped up and said that her glasses have always seemed "foggy" since she got them back in Sept! She's never come back, didn't say anything on her follow up call, nothing. She said she's got the Definity. Looked up her record, sure enough Definity Short and she also went to a much shorter frame. So......, who's to say if it is the lens, the smaller frame or her rx was off to begin with. She didn't push it, and we were busy, so I'll go through it more with her when hubby comes in to pick up. I'll let you know if it was the lens.
