    Hoya Phoenix Lens Demo

Can anyone give me some information on this progressive demo? I have read something about it on here before, but I can't find anything on it.

    which progressive model?

Phoenix is the name they give to their Trivex material. It comes in a variety of lens styles. The progressives are GP Wide, Summit CD(short corridor), Summit ECP(wide distance).

I mean the demonstrator you stick your head in to see how a progressive lens works. I don't think I should have thrown in the word Phoenix, I only did because my doc asked me about it and used that term.

We have a hoya ID (progressive lens)demo unit that has a rather large frame holding a regular progressive lens in one side and the hoyalux ID in the other. The stand itself holds the frame about 6" from a grid of perfect squares. The person stands a few feet from the display and can clearly see the difference in grid distortion between the 2 lenses. I find it an excellent way to show the difference between the newest generation of freeform progressives and the older more distortive generation of progressives.

    Do they have a rep . . . .

in Never Never land?? We got one through our rep, but I imagine you could call the lab and order one. We got billed for it, but got coupons to cover the bill.

    Good luck to you!!
