Sorry, no on-line instruction available at BC College of Optics. We offer only in-house instruction.
Look up National Federation of Opticianry Schools (NFOS)
    www.nfos.org
and you will find about five (5) opticianry schools that offer on-line instruction.:)

    Hi Optidonn,

I took this course and graduated which then allowed me to sit for the Canadian Exams. These courses were not available online. I attended Mon-Fri and it is hands-on, in-house learning.

On their site it says the tuition fee for the entire program is $8,670.00, plus $400.00 for textbooks.

Check it out if you're thinking about dual certification.

I am sure Ted will fill you in on the details.:p

I just happen to be stuck in one of them crappy areas where there are no schools nearby . The NFOS online schools still require you to travel to their schools for certain tests and of course non of them are near by:(

All school/book fees are in Canadian dollars (so deduct about 15-17%) and are payable monthly as you go. Fully Income Tax deductible here in Canada, but not sure how Uncle Sam would deal with it. Snitgirl managed it, and even found time to start a family.;)
