Horizon III consistency?

I've got a Horizon II and I am considering upgrading to the Horizon III. To make a long story short, we purchased a patternless upgrade/tracer from Elision Tech but it's not consistent with sizing and that was the whole point of getting the retrofit unit.

If you're running a Horizon III, can you generally 1-cut most jobs? I know I've heard the 4T tracer is better than the Saturn NP tracer, mostly because of today's smaller frames.

If I remember correctly, the 4T tracer only holds about 100 to 125 jobs, so I would need to buy the Optronics software that connects the tracer to a computer to store/transfer more jobs.

The Horizon III is very accurate and cuts the smaller frames with the 4T tracer. It is also very easy to run the tracer through a computer if you need to store hundreds of jobs at a time.

Just be sure to calibrate it every AM. It takes about 10 minutes. The only problem I had, other than those expensive scervo motoer, was the edge polishing system. It just does not make sense spraying water into a dry cut machine. I guess it's the only way to do it. I'd take a good look at the Nidek first. I think you find it worth the time.

The Horizon III is a very good machine - I wouldn't say it will one cut on everything, but matched to the 4T it's usually spot on. The nice thing about the H-III is it's still fairly inexpensive to repair - the Optronics 6 is when they get very costly to repair. But as gemstone suggested, calibrate it every AM.
