How do you feel about ON-LINE College courses? Should Colleges offer courses ON-LINE? If so, what should they be like?

Did most of the work for my MSN and MBA that way. The University of Wisconsin has a large selection of on-line courses. I think they should be more like webinars and less as regular lectures. Some of the work on my Phd. in Ophthalmic Nursing will be done on line from several universities.

My kids have taken several on line classes, they work well for them. The one I just don't get is one that my son is taking on line now. SPEECH!!
I was recently introduced to a new meeting medium, Acrobat Connect, and am considering implementing it in online CE delivery. This is a fabulous system whereby each user is linked together with the ability to share each other's desktop and files as allowed and can be seen via webcam. If there is an online real-time instructor, the students attending a class via Acrobat Connect can avail themselves of instructional material on the facilitator's computer, and have the sense of being in a classroom setting should the instructor or participants have other materials or study aids or displays at their location. Pretty cool stuff, I think!
