Unhappy White ring on semi-rimless lenses

Recently, my lap has been having problems with a white ring showing up in the groove on semi-rimless frames. Does anyone know how to get the ring to go away? I know on edge you can just polish it, but what about in the groove? Has anyone tried the liquid edge polish finish, or the edge polish pens at all in the groove?

    Sometimes the groove. . .

is too deep. I don't know that polishing is going to take care of that. You can use a tint unit to either slightly color the nylon cord or spin the edge of the lens through a color.

    Good luck to you!!

Soak it in hot water for about 2 minutes, and it should peel right out with a thumbnail.

Just went through this with a patient. Best solution I found was to surface tape the lenses then press real hard on the fuzzy part of the polish wheel to try to polish inside the groove, then tint inside the groove using a combo of grey and brown with a q-tip until the the ring takes on the tint and the ring goes away. Also tint the string so it takes on the same color as the groove. It came out nice and the patient finally took the glasses after refusing three times because of the white ring. Good luck. If one of the color pen things work please let us know.

I dont know if the pens will get you into the groove, but for sure the liquid edge polish will get there.

It does not work on CR39. There is no solvent type that will attack or dissolve CR39.

I recommend a tooth brush and some soapy water.

Rub the edge of the lens against a nice piece of shag carpet (70's were good for something).
