You'll have to forgive Mr Magee Jim, the tension is beginning to take its toll! By game time, he and Pete will be wound up tighter than a bulls **** at fly time! Notice we Pats fans are calm, cool, and collected....kind of like the way we march down the field during the two minute drill, to score the winning points.
Oh shucks, I'm not THAT wound up (I reserve that for Penn State games- and I'm gaining some perspective in my old age)... As for the ability of Patriots fans to remain calm, I have to believe it comes from the knowledge that y'all really shouldn't be playing this weekend (so, no matter what happens, its just an extra game given by the whims of fate). Say what you like, the Chargers beat you guys like a drum. Every time I watch the NFL Channel replay of the game, the end comes and I STILL can't believe y'all won that game.

But- as Chris Berman says, "That's why they play the game!"

I watched all the press conferences today. Watching Mr. Manning, Mr. Brady, Mr. Freeney, Coach Dungy, and Coach B (who was even wearing a suit and tie- someone from the front office must have given him a loaner), one couldn't help but be impressed with the class all around.

I'm hoping it will be one for the ages Sunday, and I can always show my stub and say "I was at that game" (the fellow who sold me the tickets attended SBXXXVI, and one of my other coworkers attended the Stanford/Cal game- "the play").

Let's see, fade to Pete dreaming... the score is 32-26 Patriots with 0:04 on the clock. Colts ball on the Pat's 11. Hand-off to Addai... wait, its a reverse to Harrison who runs to the right! He's penned in, but wait- he passes back across the field to a wide open Peyton Manning in the end zone! Vinatieri comes on to kick the go ahead extra point, and the ball bounces into the stands to section 143, row 28, seat 5 where a celebrating fan makes a spectacular leap to snag the football of destiny!

That was excellent! Pete and Night Train are probably in transit as I write and I'll be betting neither will be online until AFTER the event. Its a perfect opportunity for Mike and I to get in some last minute shots, but in truth I think we're more than a little envious! ( at being there, not being Colts fans.) ( at least I am!)...more tomorrow!

Other than the helmet and the blue hair, that song is scarily accurate! In fact, I will be wearing my Peyton Manning jersey tomorrow at the game (which has never been washed in the 6 years I've owned it... it will go in the washer once Manning makes it to the Superbowl).

Of course, I always wear some sort of cotton shirt underneath. Trust me, I know the won-loss record of each of those shirts (e.g., I have a long sleeve white DEFINITY shirt that I wore to the Dallas/Colts game earlier this year- that one will never see game day wear again)!

The flight leaves at 5:50am tomorrow, so I'm doing some last minute expense reports and emails- then its off to dreamland (oh, and some sleep too).

Tell your wife the washer is safe, she won't be seeing the Manning jersey clean any time soon. How about increasing the stakes......Winner of the game gets to make the FINAL adjustment to the title of this thread. Losers have to eat a little crow.....AS WELL AS...becoming temporary fans of the winning AFC team in the Super Bowl....up to, AND including Trash Talking for the AFC team during the two week period before the bowl? I'm game if you guys are...

Please take note, During super bowl weekend, I will be at Burke Mtn Vermont, probably without a computer.....but I am sure Mikey will cover for me in that case.

You and Dwayne have a great time....God only knows you paid enough dues! Currently on my layover in Atlanta (aren't PDA phones great?)...Thought I saw coach B laying on the ground between terminals, and offered assistance - but turned out the fellow was a homeless bum from Des Moines (said he gets mistaken for the coach all the time, since they both shop at the same clothing shops ;^).Will agree to final thread edit, but if the Pats win, I will be boycotting the SB (as I did the 2x the Pats knocked out the Colts).Seriously, enjoy the game everyone!PS- I passed up two parking spots @ DFW because they were at gate 13...Colts 31Pats 23

Pete is suffering from delusions of grandeur, He's got all the numbers right but the teams are mixed up! Things must be pretty desperate for him, when all he wants to talk about are the sartorial habits of the Patriots Coach. Look for him around the 5 yard line in section 143. He didn't know which side so that means he could be at either end on either side. I hope he gets to see the Patriots score a lot ,up front and personal like!

A disappointing loss for Mikey and I but when all is said and done, it was the second best football game I've ever seen. (the first being the Giants Colts game in '58. Hat's are off to Peyton and his team, they hung in there and never said die. What a wonderful end to our season. Now it's on to Miami where Mikey and I will be rooting for the Colts!
