Thinner Trifocal with Easy to clean AR

I am looking for a thinner trifocal that I can get an easy to clean AR, that the labs will also be willing to stand by.

How about Trivex? Not slim, but better than cr-39. AR is no problem.

From my understanding there is not a trivex trifocal. I know Hoya does not offer one.

    signet armorlite makes a 7x28 1.56
    xcel makes a 7x28 1.56
essilor and vision ease make a 7x28 poly 1.58
    bristolite makes a 7x28 1.50 but aspheric

    Hope this helps.

I think there is at least one other source for Trivex trifocals, but for the moment, this is the only one I was available to retrieve from my archives.

    Idea trifocals and AR

I would recommend the essilor 7x28 and request Crizal Alize w/ clearguaard for your AR. This particular trifocal and AR I made by the same company so I know you can get them together. The Alize clearguaard is both hydrophobic like the original alize but the clearguaard makes it static resistant as well so your glasses won't suck dust onto them.

Thanks guys. I will try that all out today. The difficult part, or at least here in Canada, is getting someone willing to coat these lenses and being able to believe that the coating will hold up. I guess a lot of them have hard coats on them.

I'm not sure where you're located but Riverside Optical in Ottawa told me they can get, and coat, pretty much anything. I didn't set up an account yet but you may want to talk to them if you haven't already.

I know. I do have an account with them, but they can only coat it with CHC AR. I have a competitor who uses them and that AR through them, and if he sees as many returns as we get of his clients that are mad, then he really should change his mind.

I talked to my lab and they can do a 1.56 with Crizal, but not Alize. So I will just use the Diamond Slick Coat to make it easier to clean. Not what I want, but better than the lens crazing.

    Good solution!
