New Chat Room Test!

Please test out the new test OptiBoard Chat room by clicking on the link below. I've integrate the OptiBoard member info so that it will automatically log you into the chat room

There are no users present and it doesn't say anything in the status bar.

I hit disconnect and on the way out it knew who I was. I think I know the problem. That chat server requires a minimum three letter name. I am registered here as Jo.

That was it. I disconnected and loged back in as Jo-CT and all is well.

Thanks! I'll write the person who wrote this hack and let him no about that limitation. Since this appears to work I'm going to make this the default Chat Room.

One good thing about it is that this is only available for registered members.

Well it certainly took me somewhere faster than the other log in method, but it didn't seem to recognize I was there and the screen did not resemble the one through old entry method. Perhaps it's not supposed to look the same?

I get an 'unspecified EI error' when I try either the pull-down or the link you added to the post.

Can't get in.

The people having problems - are you clicking on the link in y first message in this thread or are you using the chat link in the drop-down menu?

Also what browser and version number are you using?

I just tried it again using IE 5.0 and it worked fine. I used the chat link from the drop-down menu in the New Blue style set.

Are you saying whenever you modify something you have to modify it in each style set individually? Sheesh, that is alot of work.

It didn't seem to work for me when I tried it just then.

It comes up with a screen saying that I am not logged on, but at the bottom of the screen it has my name as "Logged in user".

Strange!

Yep! I'm trying to simplify the process but the way it's set up right now whenever I make a change I have to do it for all five styles.

No, it has "Logged in user- Corey Nicholls" but goes no where after that.

Corey, I don't suppose you could post a screenshot, could you?

Alt-Print Screen, then use your graphics program to save to graphic file (gif or jpg).
