Carl Zeiss Vision – Northwest Celebrates New Facility, New Name

Carl Zeiss Vision – Northwest, formerly Optical Plastics, celebrated the opening of its new state-of-the-art surfacing and coating laboratory in Clackamas, Oregon with an open house on November 27.

Commenting on the laboratory’s new name, Jeff Grumbling, CZV’s Director of Operations – Rx Labs, said, “We’re proud of our association with Carl Zeiss Vision. We want our customers to know that we are backed by one of the greatest names in optical, and that we share their commitment to quality and innovation. At the same time, our customers will continue to enjoy the same local, personal service that we have always offered.”

The new 22,000-foot facility features advanced LOH surfacing technology. The AR Center of Excellence provides a full range of AR coatings, including Teflon® Clear Coat Lenses, Carat® Advantage, Carat and Super ET by ZEISS. The facility offers a complete range of custom coatings as well.

“We’re very pleased to be able to offer Teflon® Clear Coat Lenses and Carat Advantage in-house,” Grumbling said. “We look forward to helping more of our customers experience the premium performance and practice-growth potential of these great AR products.”
