ESSILOR PROMOTES CRIZAL IN THE SKY
New Crizal advertisements appearing in-flight on United Airlines

DALLAS – (December 18, 2006) – Passengers on United Airlines flights traveling in early 2007 will have the opportunity to learn about Essilor of America, Inc. and Crizal® lenses. Beginning January 1, 2007, a Crizal advertisement will air on eastbound and westbound domestic flights, educating consumers about the benefits of anti-reflective (AR) coatings and the superiority of Crizal.

“This is a new advertising outlet for Essilor and an exciting way to reach a broad range of lens wearers,” said Carl Bracy, vice president of marketing for Essilor of America. “We studied the demographics of the people who will be on-board to view our advertisement and determined that this vast market was perfect for Crizal. Our goal is to educate consumers about the different options they have for their eyeglasses, so when they visit their eye care professional (ECP), they will ask for Crizal by name.”

The United Airlines in-flight advertising will air on 33,000 United Airlines flights reaching a captive audience of 4,545,000 consumers and business travelers. The video segment will air January 1, 2007 through March 31, 2007.

The 90-second ad explains and discusses the benefits of Crizal lenses. It features interviews with Carl Bracy, vice president of marketing for Essilor of America, and optometrist, Dr. Tim P. Kret. The ad displays images of a woman wearing glasses without Crizal lenses, who has significant glare on her lenses. It compares this image to another of the same woman with Crizal lenses, who now has clear, almost invisible lenses. The ad conveys how Crizal lenses are extremely beneficial for those individuals in an office setting or who drive at night.

It goes on to explain that because Crizal lenses allow 99 percent of light to reach the eye, wearers experience less glare and less eye fatigue. The ad directs viewers to the Crizal Web site, www.crizal.com, for more information.
