Is it an Optician you are looking for? Will train? If they need training, maybe we shouldn't consider them an "Optician". How about optical apprentice, optical trianee, but..Optician? I hope you fill the position, and to your requirments.

As an Optician, I take personal offense to these kind of statements. And sadly, this is what has become of our profession.....
Mode OFF.

Thanks for the edit. Are you truly looking for an Optician or more of a frame stylist, apprentice, or trainee? I have a few leads, but do not want to waste their time and yours. These are Opticians, not Mcstylists, receptionists, insurance billers, sales agents or techs. Do you want top notch Opticians or warm bodies to mold to your liking and office procedures? There is a difference. Either is ok, just PM me and let me know.
....nice good looking, smiling hairdresser needed to train to be helper in OD's office. Upscale no doubt, quality no big deal.

In 1971 after selling out my interest in a wholesale lab, I was asked by one of our accounts what I intended to do. He was an OD in a shopping center, had taken in a young OD and had 3 gals working there. He had been there 13 years and his gross the year before was 90k. He was being carried by a lab and was in to them for 25k, friend of the owner. The younger doc realized that he needed to move on and was leaving in June of that year. I agreed to work for him on a salary plus and told him what changes needed to be made. Since the changes involved quite a few $$
he was a little slow coming around but I insisted this was the only way to go, so we did. From that July 1 to the end of that year we grossed 238k the next year over 350k. To this day this man who is my friend and retired many years ago will tell you and I quote,"hiring you is the best thing I ever did". Training someone to help experienced help is fine but only true experience will succeed.
This Od paid off his lab bill and bought a boat and a lot with a mobile home at the coast and a motorhome which I used anytime I wanted. Took my family to Disney in the motorhome in 1973, used the beach place many more times then he. When he became too busy to handle it he took in a young OD in1975 and I moved on in 1978 to open the first of a dozen retail stores.
