    Smaller Pilot Frames Available Now!!!

We have some smaller Pilot style frames available for your little aviator. The frame is an almost exact duplicate of the frames used by today's military pilots. This durable frame is a Gunmetal in color and sized at 46-16-135 and comes with bayonet temples. These frame are priced for affordability for every budget. These would make nice sunglasses. Call us for details.

    No not really

That is not a true "pilot" shape. It is like an AO Skymaster worn by the miltary. :hammer:

True, it is not the shape made famous by RayBan, however it is the shape worn by Naval Aviators, first made by AO and then by Randolph Engineering. Since my husband is a retired Naval Aviator, we have a bunch of the old gold filled AO Skymasters laying around the house. When I managed the Navy Exchange Optical Shops in Norfolk, guys would beg for this style, but unless they were on active flight status, it was a no go. That's probably changed.

Truth be known, this frame is designed to the same military specifications(minus the temple tips and some gold plating) as what AO is currently supplying to the military. That frame is called the Original Pilot(OP) in a couple of sizes. This frame was the childrens version called the OP45. I do know that most people think of the "Aviator" shape as the Pilot frame and I have heard the shape of our frame commonly referred to as a "Navigator". AO also has that "aviator" shape availble and it is called the "General". Now...the Skymaster frames from AO are still available, but to my knowledge are the more "consumer" version. And thats all I know. :)
