    Unhappy sco unix open server 5

    :hammer: i need to copy a scsi drive on unix system server the drive is 1 gb scsi i would like to copy it to the ide drive and then remove the scsi anybody into unix ? WISH IT WAS WINDOWS AT LEAST THEN COULD USE DRIVE COPY

    You can use dd to copy the system disk to another disk or image file, but going from SCSI to IDE is going to present some problems. You would probably have to resinstall the kernel on the new disk and even that may not work. I would suggest investing in a cheap 9 G SCSI, then using dd would be a piece of cake.

    You could use a live cd to boot into an operating system of your choice then copy the files over. Try a google search for knoppix. If you are fmiliar with windows try Win PE.
