ESSILOR OPTICAL TECHNOLOGY GRANTS
Call for Applications

DALLAS – (October 23, 2006) – Beginning October 15, 2006, Essilor of America, Inc. (EOA) has been accepting applications for the Essilor Optical Technology Grants – three $20,000 grants to be awarded to schools and colleges of optometry that exhibit their commitment to growing the industry through new advancements. This is the 5th year that Essilor is offering the grants. Recipients of the grants will be announced in December.

Applications may be obtained by contacting Danne Ventura, director, professional relations, Essilor of America, at dventura@essilorusa.com. Entry requirements include a description of 1,000 words or less why the school needs and deserves the grant by November 22nd. Applications will be judged on the school’s commitment to the growth of premium optical technology as well as how the funding will help the school elevate the standards and visibility of ophthalmic dispensing for students and patients.

• Applications must be signed by accompanying letter from school Dean or President
• Only one application per school may be submitted
• Applications must be submitted electronically (on CD-ROM or by e-mail to dventura@essilorusa.com)
• Recipients must submit a written “progress report” by June 30, 2007 to be considered for any future technology grants

Applications must be received by November 22, 2006 and should be mailed to Essilor Lenses, 13515 North Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX 75234, attn: Danne Ventura. The panel of judges will include Essilor executives and independent optometrists. Funds will be distributed by December 31, 2006.
