    Loggin in problem

I am having a problem logging into Optiboard.
    Background:
A week ago, I was bouncing around this site and goofed up and logged out, or changed something...I don't remember. I got a new password and tried to log back in=No luck! I get the screen that thanks me by my user name for logging in, but when it redirects me to the forums page, it is as if I never logged in. No matter what I try, it seems to ignore the fact that it let me log in. I try at work and log in without a problem. That is how I can post this. My home computer is an Mac and work is a Dell/windows based computer. I have contacted Steve, but he is drawing a blank also. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am very computer unsavvy and this is driving me crazy. Thanks.

Update: I usually use Internet Explorer at home. I was advised to try the Safari that is on my Mac. I can log on fine with that. My Internet Explorer must be whacked.

Hmmph.....Try clearing IE's cache and cleaning up the old cookies in the browser.

To do this in IE 6.0:

Tools -> Internet Options -> Temporary Internet Files -> Settings -> View Files

Then search for the individual cookies for OptiBoard and delete them all. The name should be in the form of:

    Cookie:username@optiboard.com
    and
    Cookie:username@www.optiboard.com

...and any derivatives of the above. Then highlight the individual cookies and delete each one found. After this, close all browser windows and restart IE.

Should I clean out anything else while I am at it?

I been playing around here at work, and WOW is there alot of stuff in the view files area! I was wondering if eliminating this stuff would be beneficial. It shows a bunch of stuff that I really don't think I need.

Thanks for the education...I need it!

If you clear out all your cookies you may find you'll have to relogin to a lot of sites. It's up to you.

You might want to download this:

    http://www.ccleaner.com/

It clears out cookies, temp internet files, history.
