    The continuing hypocrisy of baseball...

Yes, I'm going to gripe about the inequities of baseball justice once again...

Apparently, you can use steroids and still continue to play, break records, and probably enter the Hall of Fame (Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, etc.)...

You can cork your bat and come back after a suspension (Sammy Sosa)...

You can get busted for drugs time and again and receive chance after chance (Dwight Gooden)...

You can even use pine tar on your pitching hand and receive not so much as a "tsk tsk" from the commissioner (Kenny Rogers)...

BUT, if you dare to bet on your own team- that's it- you're banned for life... from the game and from the Hall.

I'm enjoying the World Series, because I'm a Leyland fan- but baseball has absolultely no semblance of credibility left as far as I'm concerned. How do you execute one man's career for breaking the rules- and then give a pass to so many others whose cheating actually affects their performance on the field?!?

You have a choice - or, do you

Life’s not fair. Baseball isn’t fair. If you are sick of this behavior why don't you watch the NBA , NFL or NHL. Don't bother with NASCAR - it aint a sport.

Just to add fuel to the fire. Did you know that MLB has been given an exemption from the Sherman Antitrust Act by congress? They had to, because baseball is rife with price-fixing and monopolistic behaviour. Always has been.

Yeah, quite watching baseball. I mean it is not even entertaining anymore. Hockey is where it is at ;)

Anyways, MLB is signing a new collective bargaining agreement, which will continue to make the league less and less competitive.

Pete, it was easy. Pete R., not H., was retired and no longer stretching singles into doubles (possibly with spikes bared), exciting fans and bringing in the bucks. The other guys were/are still playing and bringing in the dollars.

It would be hypocritical tho if any of them makes the Hall of Fame.
