ODMA Fair 2001

Hey all Australians, can anyone fill me in on the details of ODMA ?

Just want to find out if it is truly worth a visit, on my weekend!!!!

Hi James,
Sorry for the late reply but I don't tend to visit this particular forum too often, since it mainly relates to US associations (mind you, I do belong to one and I should tune in more often). ODMAFAIR certainly is worth a visit. And, if anyone elso from around the globe is heading to Sydney in two weeks from now I would recommend it. For you Americans it is a little like Vision Expo but on a much smaller scale. The continuing education is very much smaller, with the main emphasis being the trade fair. The trade fair is held in Darling Harbour (a very nice part of the city) and the floor space would be about half the size of Vision Expo East (I guess). All the major lens, frame and instrument manufacturers are there and the big ones have quite spectacular stands. At least they have in the past.

I have just found out, and i am going to visit, i got my wonderful pink admission badge, all pretty with my name and all (woohoo....)

I also found out the dates, they are the 29th 30th & 1st july
as hosted by the good ol' OPtical Distributers and Manufacturers Association (ODMA??)

ONly condition of free entry is that you are in the optical trade, dunno how long it takes at the door, but it took 2 days for mine to be mailed out

I'm sure that you won't regret it, James. I'm sure that all of our American friends will tell you that they learn a lot from their Vision Expos.
