Question about a SGX Plus Generator

I am trying to surface the front of a lens to make it atoric and the generator does not seem to want to cut convex curves? Does anyone have any tricks for this machine or have I reached it's limitations I want the front surface to be:

    Code:
    +6.50/+4.50
The error I keep getting is

    Code:
invalid cross curve press any button
    Any help would be appreciated

    Try +4.50/+6.50.

    Atoric?

Tryed that same error? I actually had that first then tried +6.50/+4.50 to see if it would work that way.

Are you sure that you're entering plus signs on both curves? The difference between base & cross is limited to 10 diopters.

It could be done under the PLAP setting, would be a bit tricky getting the thickness correct, nothing I've needed to do, I do make many plastic laps that way.
    Good luck,

The SGX's limit on convex curves for lenses is 8.00 diopters.

I'm not sure what's up with Harry's machine, but my simulator has no problem with +4.50/+6.50.

In any case, I'm sure the friendly and helpful folks at GC field service would be able to figure this out for you, Harry, were you to call them at 800-843-1479.

    Thanks shanbaum,

I think I am going to calle them on monday and see what the issue is. I am sure it can be done, because it cuts laps with the same type curves I am trying to get. Just thought someone might have a quick fix for me.

It may depend upon the age of your SGX. I think it wasn't until the "SGX Plus" that lens curves could go above +6.00 diopters.

It's an SGX Plus and 1 year 2 months old. I tried lowering the cross curve and it gave me errors until I reached "0.00". Thanks for the tip though.

Be sure to tell field service about that. Sounds like a good clue.

I will, it looks like maybe it's a glitch or something because it will generate convex base curves just not cross curves. I miss my optronics 2g.

OK, well, I probably wouldn't mention that last bit.
