Compact ULTRA is a new short-corridor progressive lens design that the SOLA brand will be introducing shortly. It has a 9 mm corridor length to 85% of the Add power, which is currently one of the shortest on the market. It also has an especially wide, high near zone, which should make it the foremost choice for small frames. The minimum fitting height is only 13 mm. The periphery is actually softer than the original Compact's, particularly at near, which will reduce blur and skew distortion.

Well, I did come from the SOLA side, but we're all one big happy family now.

To follow up, Darryl ... what do you know about the Synchrony lens? My Sola lab has been touting it's design as a collaboration between Ao/Sola and Zeiss.

Synchrony is based on the same lens design platform used for SOLAMAX and SOLAOne. It's basically a "SOLA" product. However, GT2 by ZEISS represents more of a collaborative effort between the former SOLA and ZEISS organizations. While GT2 was designed by the former ZEISS R&D group, there was a great deal of input, as well as some development work, from the former SOLA R&D side.
