Florida Opticians Using Ce Broker ***important***

It appears that CE Broker has the information incorrect for the renewal requirements for Opticians. I have Sharon from the board trying to straighten it out with CE Broker now. If you are logging in to CE Broker to check your CE's needed, you may need to call the Florida Board instead. I shold get a call later today with what she finds out, and I'll post a reply here.

i.e. - CE Broker right now thinks our license only needs us to complete a minimum of hours, but does not show the three neccessary cources as neccessary. I've taken 18 technical hours, and they were going to tell me I don't need to take any more, even though I have not yet taken HIV/AIDS, or reduction of medical errors.

Okay, it looks like since I was licensed initially this biennium, I only need 10 hrs, and for that, there is no particular required courses. A month ago, it showed on CE Broker that there was, but they just got around to changing it.

If CE Broker has it right for those with the full 20 hours required, moderators, feel free to delete or lock this thread.

Why are you using CE Brokers? Do you not pay them to keep track of your hours? It really is not that hard to do yourself. and depending on where or who you get your hours thru they usually keep track of them. I only attend POF hours for this reason.( and their legislative efforts of course)
