Hi Sam and other Optiboard friends


Thought I might share how my days unfold. I am the Manager of the University of Houston optometry college optical service. I have been an Optician since 1972. I have been working at UH since 1983. I spend most of my day instructing young to be optometrist the art and craft of Opticianry. Think of constantly having 4-6 new employees in your office everyday and that is kinda what its like. Thousands of question from young curious minds. If you like to share your experience and knowledge as I do it's a lot of fun and rewarding to see your students go from knowing squat to being a competent clinician. We don't pretend to graduate the best opticians here that is not my goal. We just try to give them enough knowledge and experience so when they graduate they know just how valuable a good optician is to their practice. Some of you probably work with some of my graduates. If you are working for an OD that graduated from UH after 1983 they probably know me.
