How to adjust gradal RD for computer distances?

I would like to know if anyone has any particular advice for prescribing Gradal RD lenses for patients who sit either further or closer from their computers. We have a large number of patients who claim that they sit at least 2-3 feet from their computers. We also have patients who sit 1.5 feet away. Would you adjust the prescription in any way? Or would you just measure the distance and near refraction and order the lenses in the same way? We like gradal RD as opposed to Sola Access because many of our patients need to ambulate around the office and the RD lens is designed to provide no more than +0.50 at the top of the lens.

my understanding of the gradal rd is that the 'distance' part is for use up to 3 meters away and this is achieved by adding +0.50 to the distance Rx (the add is then reduced by 0.50 to compensate) so this should give your Px a good intermediate range. In the U.K there is a gradal business available which is more of an enhanced reader with 1.00D or 1.50D degressions when orederd with the near Rx, This would give a more limited internediate distance but a wider area (I think !). Hope this helps x

Have you tried the Shamir Office lens? It's my preferred office-type lens because it provides up to 12 feet of distance in the top of the lens!
