    Baltimore Marathon

    It is official I am going to be running in the Baltimore Under Armour Marathon on October 14th.

    My training so far:

    5 mile run everyday with a 10-15 mile run on the weekends.

    The runs are getting easier and I think this should be a piece of cake. I did it all off a dare because my family and friends said I wasn't in shape anymore. Of course they are comparing me to when I used to body build. Wish me luck and if you are in the Baltimore Area come by and watch the race it should be fun. www.thebaltimoremarathon.com

    Good Luck, Harry.

    I remember many years ago beings in a similar race in Balmer. We'd start at Stabillie's in Highlandtown, race to "The Horse" in Fells Point and then crawl to the 2 o'clock Club......:cheers:

    No one else is running and no one knows I am running, besides you all. I a the type of person that will just plop the medal you get at the end on the table the weekend after and say "by the way that marathon you thought I coudnt run, DONE" I have a feeling my family might expect it from me, also I am a cocky SOB, but even I think I might have bit off more than I can chew. Keep in mind up untill a week ago I was a professional couch jockey, and today I got back from a 10 mile run in just over 2 hours. If I can keep that pace I will be OK.

    I like your style. This is a cool site for inspiration and motivation I thought this one appropriate for your race. http://www.appleseeds.org/SPEC-IDX.HTM
    Help me to play the game, dear Lord, with all my might and main;
    Grant me the courage born of right, a heart to stand the strain…

    Send me a sense of humor, Lord, to laugh when victory’s mine;
    To laugh, if I should meet defeat, without a fret or whine…

    Give me the grace to follow rules, to ‘fess up when I’m wrong,
    When silence or some other thing wins plaudits from the throng…

    When foes are tough and fighting fierce and I am getting weak,
    Dear God, don’t ever let me show a broad, bright, yellow streak.

    And teach me, Lord, life’s game to play just one day at a time.
    With Thee as coach and trainer, Lord, real victory must be mine.

    Great job Harry. I'm sure I'd run for 10 minutes and then give up. Now have a relaxing Sunday, you've earned it.:cheers:
