you don't need to be a master of any trade to work in this industry . just bight enough to tell you guys it will take all day to fix the machine you just poured your coffee in. :D and put a smile on your everloving boss hope he soon gets well it will make your day :D :D :D
JACK. "not a master but a super star"
You British,
I'm a bit hongray. Jeet? I'da had the pot a bolin but it got tumpt over.
Or here's my favorite (and soon will be yours as well) southern lingo joke.
Ducks!
C M Ducks?
M aint ducks!
M R 2 Ducks!
M R not ducks!
Look agin.
Y I B. M R Ducks.
I find it intersting to read in the British vernacular. Worlds apart and yet so similar.
Ya'll need to take trip over to Texas and we'll teach ya English goodly ;-)
Take care my British friends,
Darris C.
Hope I am not about to open up a can of worms with you folks; but I have a question for you. I am of Welsh decent and had always been told we were Welsh, British or Celts but definitely not English. I know that Wales was fighting hold onto its native tongue as a first language. I also know that being given seats at Parliment was considered a token gesture by the government. The racism you mention, is it part of the unification issue? Knowing a little bit of the history of England, I hope Wales and other British are allowed to hold on to their identities and culture.
What!!!!!????Originally posted by Darris Chambless:

jo the racist thing is just another piece of political correctness gone mad some crazy think tank set up bye the goverment came up with the idea that new "britain" was a multi ethnic society and so it was deemed as racist to refer to our selves as british and that we should change the way that our history is taught so as not to glorify our imperialist past.
those days are long gone anyway.
jack :(
Arr but are they still lame though :DOriginally posted by optispares:

QUACK QUACK
Let me try...another version
C M Ducks
M R not Ducks
S M R Ducks
C M Wangs
L I B
S M R Ducks
...
C M Ducks - See them Ducks
M R not Ducks - Them are not ducks
S M R Ducks - Yes them are ducks
C M Wangs - See them Wings
L I B - Well I'll be.
S M R Ducks - Yes, them are ducks
Nobody claimed that the grammar was correct.
I have also been told that the book which is actually called "CDB" originated in Ocean City, Maryland. Correct me if that city claims falsely.

my understanding is that British opticians perform site testing can anyone elaborate on that and provide me info on education.
Hi there JillyBean
I think a lot take the route of training to be a DO then carry on at uni to train as an optician not sure about the last bit but best place for DO information is http://www.abdo.org.uk
also try this site as they run the one of the courses http://www.bilk.ac.uk/college/fthe20.../co_index.html

Every day a grind
Every week a bind

Yes, after you've done the DO's course, if you got a very good result in your finals, then you can apply for a place on the optom degree course. But it actually works out quicker to take science A levels, and do it that way, although, should you wish to work part-time whilst doing your degree, your earning potential will be higher as a qualified DO.

A good idea is to look into taking the practice management course - it includes the DO qualification but also gives you an understanding of management.

Is the VE for vision express?
If so, do you know anything about the Bury site that they have bought but not moved into?
Yes Maria - VE - Vision Express
Im currently a store manager (and a regional manager in my spare time - don't ask) for VE and have been for 3 years.
I'm not sure about Bury - at a guess I think it could be a JV site. If I find out any more I'll let you know (unless it's "Top Secret")
Steve
They were advertising the site as a jv, then it suddenly disappeared from the ads. Then we heard that had signed a 25 yr lease on the former Richards store, then they asked us if we wanted the store (we didn't), and since then, nothing. The store is still empty, so they don't seem to have off-loaded the lease.
It probably is top secret but tell me anyway. You know you want to. ;)

'We' is me and my colleagues, of course!
Pretended obtuseness aside, 'we' are one of the 'big four'
