    Truth

I would like to start a thread with things/observations that YOU know to be true. Its not a right/wrong thing just things you know to be true.

    1. A clean desk is the sign of a clutter mind.

    2. A man is not a man till he looses his father.

    3. Watching an 11 month old eating cheere-o's is great.

Interesting thread idea... If I get your meaning correctly, you want items which you personally believe to be true. In other words, things that are internally and subjectively true.

Regarding the "other" kind of truth (objective/externally verifiable truth). I recall reading somewhere that a study was done on things we "know" to be true. In the study, people were given several hundred statements and were then asked to check off one of the following:
1.) I am certain this is true
2.) I believe this is true
3.) I am uncertain whether this is true or false
4.) I believe this to be false
5.) I am certain this is false

Interestingly, approximately 11% of the items respondents indicated were certainly true were- in fact- untrue... Again, I may have one or two particulars wrong, but as I recall, approximately 11% of what you KNOW you know is actually untrue!

Anyway, back to your original thread (sorry for the above deviation from the course)...
1.) You rarely fully appreciate anything until you lose it.
2.) If you have to demand respect- you'll never really have it.
3.) The opposite of love isn't hate- its indifference.
4.) Honest contemplation of a star-filled night sky is a sure cure for an elevated ego.

The phone always rings when you're in the bathroom.

The older I get, the more patience I need and the less I have.

Our country is getting more and more polarized politically.

There is nothing better than a crisp fall day in Pennsylvania, going to a high school football game at night with a bonfire.

The older I get, the faster the time goes.

Air conditioning is the best invention ever.

I always liked a line from the movie "Rudy" where a priest tells him "son, in thirty years of intensive religeous studies, I have learned only two irrefutable facts: one, there is a God, and two, I aint him."

Time is like toilet paper- you waste it until there isn't much left!

(Sorry, I sat down one day and tried to come up with a really clever witticism, and this was as close as I got.)

I have driven in NY. Not very well, though.

I know that the only thing constant in life is change.

It's nice to be nice to the nice.

And lastly - the meaning of Life is Happiness.
