I found polarized lens info below to be very informative. My comprehension of eye physiology and visual deficits has developed a new question in my mind concerning this subject.

Plano polarized sunwear has lenses mounted in the eyewire at the 180 axis.

Would I be correct in maintaining the idea that a person wearing plano polarized lenses with a mixed astigmatism positioned say at 90 degrees would experience a conflict of the polarizing positioning with the position of their astigmatism?

The "180 axis" refers to the orientation of the polarizing filter embedded in the lens, which has nothing to do with the orientation of a wearer's astigmatism. An astigmatic wearer would experience the same effect as an emmetrope - insofar as the polarization is concerned.

    Yeah, what Robert said! ;)

(i.e., The orientation of the polaroid filter and the axis of astigmatism are independent of each other.)

    Best regards,

    Thanks for clarification,

It was just a thought on which I now have a more accurate understanding of.

    Thanks Again,
    Kevin
