Aspheric vs spheric on minus lenses

If I have a script of -4.00 OU and I can get this in either Trivex (1.53) aspheric or spherical 1.54 which is the better product. I do need to have them be Transitions. What I really mean is how important is the aspheric design with this kind of rx. Px wants best vision, $ not a concern. I appreciate any imput.

The 1.54 is Spectrilite(sp) and it is also aspheric. Both are fine choices, though neither is as thin as high index lenses.

The trivex is more impact resistant and better for drill mounts and rimless frames.

Can you surface the trivex with a thinner CT versus 1.54. For transition it seems like the choice is either 1.54 or 1.67, no 1.6 but thickness is an issue to the patient but I am thinking that in a small frame, if I can get good CT I should be OK.
