We dont have a problem i was wondering if anybody else was using them, and how they got on with them. Only thing we have found is when they are new you get a few more "grey" lenses off polishing due to the stiffness of the pads.

    OK,
I guess that your generator is OK, you need to prebend them. Place a new pad on a 6BC tool, and press the pad to the same shape.
When the pads get thin use them for high curves. Do NOT use the same pad for all kinds of curves.
    Hope this help.

John most customers here who are using LOH equipment have no difficulty running diamond pads for glass. To my knowledge, very few have been sucessful running anyone else's cylinder machines

We use coburn :-( machines for gen, smooth and polishing The gen is an old coburn 120 but is about the only machine that has the through put we need, 150 to 200 jobs a day.(any one know any new machines that can cope with this ammount) We do preform the foils and use 4 diff pads through the range. We dont realy have any problems so long as smoothing solution is kept correct. Where do most of you get the foils from as we use a company from america now as they are cheaper. Also does anyone else have any problems getting parts from coburn?
