    Pitchers of All Time

What would your list look like if you had to list 10 pitchers from Baseball for your all time list? And if you were in the World Series and could pick any four starters
from all time who would your four starters be?
    1. Walter Johnson
    2. Christi Matthews
    3. Cy Young
    4. Whitey Ford
    5. Bob Gibson
    6. Satchell Paige
    7. Bob Feller
    8. Pedro M.
    9. Sandy Koufax
    10.Jim Palmer
    11. Honorable mention: Babe Ruth spectacular won lost record before switch to just hitting. 96w & 46 lost

    Series Starters:
    1.Walter Johnson
    2.Bob Gibson
    3. Sandy Koufax
    4. Bob Feller

Hard to argue with your list, might think about Drysdale.

There was a great artical on Greg Maddox in Sports Illustrated a while back. It compared his stats vs the rest of the league' stats against some of the greats' stats vs the rest of the league in their day's stats. What a horrible sentence. Their conclusion was that Madox was better against his peers than the other greats.

    Randy Johnson
    Tom Seaver

    on the subject of baseball

    1. am I the only miserable and rotten person who thinks Bonds is deliberately laying off the long ball so he gets to 714 in the friendly confines of ---whatever it's called, the new Candlestick Park. Pac something??

    2. who would make your list of the top baseball players as role models? Lou Geahrig (sp?), Roberto Clemente, Cal Ripkin, Jackie Robertson (Robinson???......gee am I off my game today....:hammer: )

    1. Your right they are waiting to get to Pac something.

    2. Role models: Barry Bonds, Mark Mc. and lets through in Terrel Owens. Now there is character! :D

    Pedro is 10

The number before the player is the rank. (Not after)

Ok I understand now. That list is a bit confusing. But they have Randy J. ahead of Sandy k. and Bob G.? Both of those guys could pitch around Randy in a heart beat. Who would you rather have to decide a seventh game World Series, Randy, Bob G. or Sandy K.? For my money it would be a tough decision between
Bob G. and Sandy K. but I lean toward Bob G. more intimidating, he would throw right at you and not back down and I believe more back bone but Sandy would be my second choice. I don't think Randy has done enough to warrant his lofy status, sure he's 6 foot 9 but this is not the NBA. Just my 2 cents;)

Might throw in Ron Artest. Now could you see having all these guys in one room
together. Might have to bring in the National Guard just to keep the peace. :bbg:

Especially if you also throw in Ty Cobb.
