Make sure the air conditioners are very good both at work and home and in the car. Temps reach 135 and I can't see a red neck from Misssissippi taking it, and am pretty sure those from the hinterland couldn't.
Similar pages optometry in australia , this should help.

Hi
As a German refracting optician it is unlikely that you would get registration as an optometrist in any of the Australian states. As for optical dispensing, there is now only licensing in one state (New South Wales). All other states are deregulated or unregulated. So if you want to work in Sydney as an optical dispenser (you would not be able to refract), you would need to contact the Optical Dispensers' Licensing Board. If you wanted to work as an optical dispenser in any other state or territory then there is no problem, but refraction would still be out of the question. If you wanted to see if registration as an optometrists is possible you should contact the Optometrists' Registration Board in the relevant state.
Regards
David Wilson

Speaking of Aus. The boss has been there for 2 months. Sent me theses links. Might pull in some frames from them. Anyone heard of them?

Roger Henley frames are gorgeous. We don't stock his frames, but he makes beautiful custom made frames that we use for a kiddies with facial deformaties. They aren't cheap, but for some of our patients, it's their only option. He made an absolutely beautiful little pink frame for one of our 6 year olds... I was surprised that it has held up to her for 2 years especially as she enjoys throwing them! It also increased her independence as she was able to put her spectacles on by herself for the first time, which was fantastic! There were tears all round on this one...

That's honestly good enough for me. Not my final call on this one by a long shot but that's a fantastic story. I'll pass it on.
