Optical software?

:finger: I need an optical software for opticians. I have an optical shop and I don't want to pay $20,000 for a comprehensive software package for doctors. Can someone please tell me some info. that will allow me to keep my books and also enter Rx info.

Depending on what you want to do, you could possible be served well by the package that Optronics sells. It's called Visual Lab and it was written by a guy from the Dallas area, I think. He is an Optician, not a software guy as far as I know. I have used his stuff for years, and have experience with this newest software. It's not THE greatest, but it is easy to use. I say not THE best only when compared to the $100,000 down to $25,000 systems I've used. But, hey, I think Visual Lab costs around $1500. It tracks jobs, sales, inventory (frames, lenses, contacts, and misc.) Great deal for the price. Also sold through OMI in Garland, Texas. I can give you contact info if you like.

Just for clarification:
When I said "not a software guy" I only meant that he is optician first, programmer second. The guy's name is Ken Van Cleeve I believe.

I use EZ-Frame from Lux it cost about $600.00 Canadain I Known it from lux and I usally will not by from then but it is a good product with out puting you into recevership.
