Thanks everyone! It was a very nice day overall- we had a few of our new neighbors over, and my wife bought me the first season of "Black Sheep Squadron" (one of my favorite TV shows of all time). Of course, I liked Pappy Boyington even before he became the subject of controversy at the University of Washington...

And yes, that "aura" is- more often than not- the product of the Captain Black being puffed from one of my briars!

Another thing we have in common. I used to watch that show with my dad and really enjoyed it. Pappy wasn't as cute as Captain Kirk but he was a close second.

Yep, March 5th was my b-day. I was almost born on the 29th of February (1968 was a Leap Year), which would have been cool. Mom was not happy to be told it was just "false labor." In retaliation, she still gets my birthday confused!

Wish your daughter a happy birthday for me- I don't think I've ever met anyone else born on March 5th! My younger brother was born one year and nine days later on March 14th, 1969 (he's 6' 4", so he was basically taller than me when I was 4 and he was 3... sigh).

PS- Okay, I don't really notice how guys look- but Capt. Kirk was a goober compared to Pappy Boyington! However, if I could have assumed the persona of ANY character on TV when I was a little kid, it would have been the "Fall Guy" (cause I'm the unknown stuntman, that makes Eastwood look so fine). Awesome show!
