After a purchase, how can you really tell what you paid for? What I mean is how can you tell if you really got the Super Seiko 1.67 lens or the retailers brand for the lens?
Thanks

It sounds like you may have had a bad experience with trust in the past.
Go to someone who is reputable, educated, licensed and you trust and get them to educate you prior to the purchase...It doesn't matter if they are in a chain or independent. There's good and bad in both places. I can't imagine doing business with someone that you would even THINK would sell you something other than what they told you that you were purchasing.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
For progressive lenses, it is no problem but you would likely need an optician to look it up for you.
Otherwise, it would be very difficult. Diane is right, you should seek out a business that has a reputation that you can trust.
ask them to show you the deliverynote/lens packets or invoice. of course they will want to blank out the figures, but in the age of auditors, this should be possible
Several of name brand lenses come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Not all do, but several do, and the CofA should be presented to you when you pick up your eyewear.
QDO1 is right.
If you paid for Super Seiko 1.67 -ask them to show you the packets.

Thank you all for the responses. That helps me out a lot. I didn't know I can ask for the lens packet and the other things. I didn't have a bad experience, I just asked out of curiosity. I figure if I will be paying a lot of money for a product I wanted to make sure I had what I paid for.
Thanks again
