Up to now, I've enabled the option to allow members to delete their own messages. One of the unintended consequences of this is that whenever the deleted message is the topic starter, it removes all of the follow-up messages with it. Twice now, this has resulted in lost threads that contained a lot of good information.

Therefore I've decided to change this option so people will still be able to edit their own messages but not delete them. This way we won't have situations where a lot of messages are deleted inadvertantly.

If you really want to delete a message, the best way is to edit the message and remove everything in it.

    Sponsorship

We would very much like to engage in title sponsorship, but my staff and I have all our emails returned to us as "undeliverable"

    Please help.

    Live Eyewear,

There appears to be a problem with your domain's MX records. Here's an excerpt of an error message I recieved when trying to send you a message. (I removed the exact email address for your privacy).

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software (Exim).

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

    *****@Liveeyewear.com
all relevant MX records point to non-existent hosts:
it appears that the DNS operator for this domain has installed an invalid MX record with an IP address instead of a domain name on the right hand side
I suggest you contact the person responsible for setting up the email server for your domain and have them fix this. It should be a quick and simple fix.

    Live Eyewear,

Here's the relevant section of your domain's MX records:

    ;; ANSWER SECTION:
    liveeyewear.com. 84909 IN MX 10 64.161.59.107.
Have your host change this to:
    ;; ANSWER SECTION:
    liveeyewear.com. 84909 IN MX 10 liveeyewear.com.
This should fix the email problem. (By the way, if you're not getting email from OptiBoard.com, there's a good chance you're not getting email from other domains as well.)

    Email problem

    Dear Steve,

I have forwarded your information to our IT dept and they will probably fix it in no time.

I am interested in Title sponsorship. my marketing Mgr Dave Dean is also trying to get in touch with you.

Could you forward me details on the costs, what exactly we receive etc...

    Many thanks,

Well I can't forward anything to you because my email isn't getting through. Do you have a phone number I can call? Just send me a Private Message if you don't want to post it here.
