Has anyone used or know anything about a company called Great Lakes Coating or Lens Coat? Just looking for a good lab to do my AR.
Thanks
Steve

You can find most of their websites listed at http://optochemicals.com/web_ratings.htmOriginally Posted by Rheaopt
I'm interested in why you're doing your AR that way. Even back when we did our own edging, we'd order as much stock Crizal or Alize as we could from a good, low-priced stock lens supply house, and what we couldn't get from them we'd order from a surfacing lab with good-quality AR equipment. What do you see as the advantage in having your AR done separately? Thanks.

If its the great lakes coating facility in Michigan and it hasnt markedly improved its Ar product then I would keep looking.
WE GET ALL OF OUR ZEISS COATINGS AT PREMIER OPTICS IN NORTH CAROLINA. TURN AROUND TIME IS EXCELLENT.
For stock lenses we buy most of ours from Cardinal Optical 1-800-253-4271. They have great prices on stock ar lenses. They are very fast in shipping and great to deal with.
For Complete or uncut AR jobs we get most from Southeastern Optical in Roanoke Virginia, 1-800-456-0088. They do Zeiss Ar of all flavors IN HOUSE, I really like the Carot Advantage and the Sola Teflon AR. They also do the Sola Teflon AR in house as well. Price and quality and overall speed of turning jobs around, I can say that in the last 16 years they are the best lab I have delt with. If you need anything call and talk with John Silman he is a great rep.
Good luck all, have a great weekend.
We deserve it. :)
