    Relocating to NYC, lic?

Looking to relocate from LA to NYC and would like to find out more information about what they require to be an optician. Currently I am a Opth. practice manager and would need information as to what would be required if any for such a position.

Any information would be helpful as well as the salary range. Looking to relocate to Manhattan..

    Thanks,

    D

Sorry, you can't live in Manhattan. You don't make enough money.

Here's the website for the state boards: www.op.nysed.gov/od.htm
It's a 2 year apprenticeship to become licensed. I don't know about the salary ranges in NYC as I live upstate, but there has to be a licensed optician in your office during all open hours; you not being licensed in NY will likely significantly reduce your salary, especially in smaller locations. Good luck!!
