I disagree with cutting the lenses larger than needed with metal frames. In my opinion that can lead to warping and stress fractures. He said the frame were left in his glove box, which if the lenses were cut big could have lead to warping and then in the cooler air they started to contract and fell out. Maybe the frame was a wrap which would also compound the problem. I say don't leave your glasses in your cars oven... glovebox... you could take the lenses out if they look warped a bit, place them in a cup of hot water or in your tint neutralizer for a short period ,then lay them out convex side up, apply some light pressure as this could reverse the warpage. Without seeing them first hand it's really hard to say if they were cut improperly IMHO.
What's the issue?
10 years old, and problem solved, not to mention the OP on the thread was a consumer.
IMO, if a thread is over a couple of years old, chances are the thread is resolved. Sure, read it to learn about the resolution, but it really isn't necessary to bring it back to life unless there is some new technology that would solve the problem.
*MY OPINION*
He did a search, found a solution in an old thread, and posted that the old thread was the source of his solution. He "brought it back to life" to say thanks to this community for helping him solve a problem. Simple.
I'm pretty sure these threads don't need to be policed for relevance, Mike. Relax, brother. These threads stay in the archive forever; people find crazy crap in the bowels of OB when they do Google searches for optical topics.

You said "crap in the bowels". Huh-huh.
