    Armani

Is anyone carrying the Armani collection? How about Emporio Armani? Safilo is asking for a minimum order to carry the Armani line but offers exclusivity within a 30 mile radius, which I think is an advantage to me. For those that have it how does the line sell? Thanks for your input.

Sells OK. THere is another thread about designer frames..
They might promise exclusivity, but I bet you you dont get it. They will have a minimum order to cover the rep fees, and marketing material.

With my sensible hat on, I prefer to have a full range of what ever brand I stock, or you tend to end up with many brands, with six pieces all looking the same

Armani in the UK is a "Has been" not sure about the US

We have both Emporio and Georgio Armani in our office. To be honest, it will probably get exchanged out in Feb when I meet again with the rep. Nothing is moving with it. I even went as far as to create a display in the dispensing area featuring the frames, and while people will try them on, no one is buying.

It isn't the price point, since others in that same range are moving just fine.. and we freshened up the styles last time with the rep. I personally like some of the pieces, but if it doesn't sell..

I exchanged all my Armani for Liz Claiborne. Done very well with the Liz line, it is just a little wider than other femaleframes, a nice niche.

The liz for men is similar to the Armani, in both style and sales.

Safilo is offering 30-mile exclusivity? Did Bruce tell you that?

The old Lux Armanis were great--distinctive, classy, and well-made. We still see pairs that are 2, 3, maybe even 5 years old that are in great shape. I'm not a fan of reusing POFs (especially discontinued ones) over and over again, but most of those really were (and still are) fantastic.

The Safilo stuff...I haven't seen any of it in over a year, other than poking around the Safilo catalog, but...blah. As opposed to the Lux stuff, which you could practically identify across the room, the only thing that's Armani about them now is the name on the temple.
