Looking for the ultimate scratch coated stock lens

Hi folks, I was curious about stock cr-39... does anyone know a vendor that offers a stock lens with a scratch coating that equals or surpasses the foundation hard coating?

With the prices of stock cr-39 lenses being what they are, my question is who cares? If they scratch just cut a new pair!

You could also apply a scratch resistant treatment in house. Very simple to apply and several companies do offer some of those.

I called my lab to find out about this lens and they are telling me it is discontinued.

Thanks Chris for taking the opportunity too promote your product, however is it as scratch resistant as the foundation hard coating?

Essilor stocks TD2. However, it is non-tintable. I would say it is equal to Foundation (give or take a little better or a little worse)

slaboff, Actually I did NOT promote any of my products...................I did mention that several companies do have scratch resistant treatments to offer.

You can purchase hardcoating machines, coating materials and apply your own hard coats that are as tough and hard as any finished lens you purchase from a lens manufacturer. Some of these popular machines are made and sold by Gerber-Coburn and Ultra Optics. Materials to use on those machines are widely available on the market.

Foundation hard coating, is a trade name and does not indicate what materials it is made of and or what the features are.
