    Blue Jumper Absolutely not......................

Having used chatrooms for a while sometimes in the early 1990's I think that they are a useless institution.

The optiboard is a similar type right now, but has a good theme, which is exchange of ideas and opinions concerning our profession.

There are thousands of general chatrooms on the net, why have another one? I have seen some other optical forums pop up and they are populated by some of the same people that post on the optiboard. Following their ratings I can say and prove that they are not too popular.

Ratings can be seen at: http://optochemicals.com/web_ratings.htm

Frankly I could not spare the time for a chatroom..........thanks for the offer anyhow.

As rsandr says the fivebatch chatroom will open on request if there are enough interested. I don't chat too often as I moan about optics all day, without doing so on my computer in the evening. Sunday nights are best in case anyone across the Atlantic wants to join in.

I like the convenience of checking out Optiboard as my prevailing schedule demands enable me to. I can't see myself commiting to be at the computer at a specific time.
