Different heights on progressives?

I am curious about this. When you measure for progressives, how often do you order them with different heights?

About twice a year, I will order different seg heights on a multifocal, but probably only half as often as I should. And if I do so, it is after discussing it with the wearer.
Its easier to order this on progressives than flat tops since no one will feel compelled to tell the wearer that their glasses are wrong.

It always panics our inhouse lab staff if they see I have ordered different seg measurements, especially if I just left for lunch and they have to wonder if I really meant it!

Hopefully I will have left the lab a note on the order sheet and hopefully they will have read it. :hammer:

It sure is not uncommon! I would say every week or so I use mono heights. And on PALS...I wouldn't even discuss the height differential with them. You don't tell them you are making the PD 32/30 do you?
