    Evaluating Employee Job Performance

When giving a performance evaluation on all our employees there is a form (with categories) that I have to fill out. I've filled out this form numerous times for many years and it's the same old form, same categories, which has become quite boring. I would love to make some changes to it!!

Was wondering what everyone else uses to gauge their employees?

Does anyone know of any evaluation forms out there that are designed for the Optical Field?

    Thanks!

I would assume that the purpose of the evaluation form is to evaluate and not amuse. You can not track changes and trends in employee performance it you change the questions all the time. Now, just be compliant and fill out the forms. And, remember, someone is filling out a form on your performance unless you are the owner of the business. Then you can do anything your little heart desires.

Thank you for your opinion, Dick.

The purpose for the evaluation is for evaluation, not to amuse.

The questions will not be changed "all" the time and I will be able to track employee performances. This will be the first change in 20 years.

I am quite willing to fill out the forms.

I "can" do anything my little heart desires....;)

As business changes, so must the evaluation. I would base it upon what is most important too your business. ex. Remakes, Controllable Remakes, Sales, Add on items, breakage, etc...etc....

Set standards and a scoring system. base your raises and promotions upon the score.

But most of all........Do it at least quarterly. Monthly is even better. An employee will forget what he is scored on if they only see it once a year.
