    On the subject of protection against summertime stuff: found the greatest product, Coppertone continuous spray sun screen. Great for the little ones--you know how messy it is getting sun screen on those squirming little bodies--this is much easier and most of the stuff actually gets on the kid. Rather pricey, but worth it.

    Here up north the summer snow is called, shadflies, blackflies + deerflies and the latter two bite chunks out of your skin. The first ones do nothing but fly in swarms of several millions. The best is going on a bike ride along the lake and get into on of those clouds.

    Mosquitos

    Upper Deleware Valley of NY/PA border area has mosquitos so big you need a shotgun to down them
    Sleeping at scout camp was a battle of OFF or 6-12 A full over bunk mosquito net and Shell No Pest Strips...the eating area had old fashioned flypaper for the C-47 sized horseflys as ell
