    high plus options

I have a patient with a OD +15.00 -.50 x60 OS balance (macular degeneration). I'm not finding any thin, light options in lens materials, only CR-39 in post-cataract-type designs. Does anyone have a recommendation that will minimize the thickness and weight of these lenses?

I recently did an rx similar to this in a biconvex poly, 45 eye, it was beautiful. The magnification was greatly reduced from previous lenticular.

Get it in a CR39 lenticular........give it light pink-brownish tint 15%. It will make a light and acceptable lens.

I would NOT recommend a bi-convex lens....,,,,,,that is late 1800 to 1920 technology with non corrected curve lenses.

I generally recommend "zonal" aspherics for cataract lenses, like Essilor's Super Modular or Rodenstock's Perfastar.

    Best regards,

I ended up using the super modular.

    High plus

Any of the aspheric full field lenses should work well. Hyperaspheric from SA Super modular of the equivalent from other manufacturers. Fit as close as possible. Unfortunately no one makes these lenses in mid or high index
